ORIGINAL ENGLISH AT THE END

Em uma tarde fria, durante um dos invernos mais frios das últimas duas décadas na Escandinávia, a melhor maneira de se aquecer é pular, dançar e tomar um pouco de álcool. E quem é melhor para fazer você mexer o corpo e os pés do que AVATAR?

Em 6 de fevereiro de 2024, na gelada Uppsala, Suécia, o Diabo nos fez uma visita. Avatar, a banda sueca de heavy metal de Mölndal, Gotemburgo, com o vocalista extremamente bom Johannes Eckerström, Henrik Sandelin no Baixo, Tim Öhrström na Guitarra, Jonas “Kungen” Jarlsby na Guitarra e John Alfredsson na Bateria, trouxeram o caos ao palco.

As portas abriram às 18:00, o ato de abertura AETHER REALM, banda de heavy metal dos EUA, começou pontualmente às 18:45 e vamos começar a festa, a banda é boa. Sua música é uma mistura de death metal melódico e folk metal, com temas líricos de fantasia e mitologia. Bem, seus chefes sabem escolher uma boa banda para seu show. O som do Katalin (o local) estava bom, você podia ouvir a música claramente. Posso dizer que Aether Realm teve uma performance de palco muito boa, bom contato com o público, agradável para os olhos e para os ouvidos, boas músicas, principalmente coisas pesadas e uma bela balada, “Guardian”. Para o vocalista, vocais no ponto, o resto da banda, músicos habilidosos. Em geral, estou feliz que todos nós fomos apresentados a mais uma boa banda de metal. Sinto muito porque minha câmera não quis focar naquele dia e eu não pude tirar boas fotos deles, pelo menos consegui fazer funcionar para Avatar.

O tempo acabou. O inferno nos esperava a todos. O local estava lotado, já que o show estava esgotado. O Grande Circo do Metal havia chegado. O que posso dizer sobre essa banda? Eu amo bandas teatrais, artistas autodidatas, que realmente se esforçam e você pode ver que seu trabalho compensa. No momento em que a banda sobe ao palco, a multidão fica louca, pois a energia que esses garotos têm é incrível e eles transmitem para a multidão. Começando com “Dance Devil Dance” e “Valley of Disease” de seu último álbum de estúdio “Dance Devil Dance“, o vocalista (Johannes Eckerström) trocando de figurinos entre as músicas e também fazendo piadas sujas que pessoalmente adoro, mas não consegui entender 80% delas porque meu sueco ainda é terrível, a multidão parecia estar gostando delas. O baixo e a bateria batendo muito forte, as guitarras tocando riffs cativantes. Uma imagem ficou na minha memória. Todos ao meu redor gritando, todos headbanging. Seguindo em frente, Avatar trouxe ao palco o rei para seus “cidadãos do País de Avatar” (é assim que a banda chama seus fãs), Jonas (guitarra) todo vestido com sua coroa para se apresentar com sua banda “A Statue Of The King”. Então, glória ao nosso rei, a multidão parecia conhecer todas as letras da música. Todos eles merecem um cartão verde. O show terminou com os dois “clássicos” que não poderiam faltar na apresentação ao vivo da banda, “Smells like a Freakshow” e “Hail the Apocalypse“. Muito bem organizado, boas vibrações, loucura, caos, charme, moinhos de vento no cabelo e um show de luzes realmente bom que faz você sentir que entrou no submundo. Parabéns também para a multidão, eles foram respeitosos uns com os outros, o que tornou tudo mais agradável.

Em conclusão. Vá vê-los. Se você está procurando uma boa banda ao vivo e não é fácil de agradar, vá ver Avatar. Tudo vai doer no dia seguinte, mas tudo bem, porque gostamos quando dói, tenho certeza de que você também gosta.

On a cold afternoon, during one of the coldest winters of the last two decades in Scandinavia, the best way to get warm is to jump, to dance and get some alcohol. And who’s better on making you move your body and feet than AVATAR?

February 6 ,2024 at the icy Uppsala, Sweden, the Devil payed a visit to us. Avatar, the Swedish heavy Metal band from Mölndal, Gothenburg, with the extremely good vocalist Johannes Eckerström, Henrik Sandelin on Bass, Tim Öhrström on Guitar, Jonas “Kungen” Jarlsby on Guitar and John Alfredsson on Drums, brought chaos on stage.

Doors opened at 18:00, opening act AETHER REALM, heavy metal band from the US was on time at 18:45 and let’s get the party started,the band is good. Their music is a blend of melodic death metal and folk metal, with lyrical themes of fantasy and mythology. Well,their bosses know how to choose a good band for their show. The sound of Katalin (the venue) was good, you could hear the music clearly. I can say Aether Realm had a very good stage performance, good contact with the audience, pleasant for the eyes and the ears, good songs, mostly heavy stuff and a beautiful ballad,  “Guardian”. For the vocalist, vocals on point, the rest of the band, skilled musicians. In general, I’m happy we were all introduced to another one good metal band. I feel bad because my camera didn’t want to focus that day and I couldn’t take good photos of them, at least I managed to make it work for Avatar.

Time was up. Hell was awaiting us all. The venue was full as the show was sold out. The Great Metal Circus had arrived. What can I say about this band? I love theatrical bands, self made artists, that really put an effort and you can see that their work pays off. By the time the band gets on stage the crowd gets crazy as the energy those boys have is incredible and they transmit to the crowd. Starting with “Dance Devil Dance” and “Valley of Disease” from their latest studio album “Dance Devil Dance“, the frontman (Johannes Eckerström) changing costumes in between the songs and also making dirty jokes that I personally love, but I couldn’t understand the 80% of them because my Swedish is still terrible, the crowd though seemed to enjoy them. The bass and the drums hitting too hard, the guitars playing catchy riffs. One image is left in my memory. Everyone around me screaming, everyone headbanging. Moving on, Avatar brought on stage the king for their “citizens of Avatar Country” (this is how the band calls their fans),Jonas (guitar) full dressed up with his crown to perform with his band “A Statue Of The King”. So glory to our king, the crowd seemed to know all the lyrics of the song. They all deserve a green card. The show ended with the two “classics” that couldn’t be missing from the band’s live performance, “Smells like a Freakshow” and “Hail the Apocalypse“. Very well organised, very good vibes, madness, chaos, charm, hair windmills and a really good light show that makes you feel that you entered the underworld. Props to the crowd as well, they were respectful to each other which made everything more pleasant.

In conclusion. Go see them. If you’re looking for a good live band and you are not easy pleased, go see Avatar. Everything will hurt the next day, but that’s ok, because we like it when it hurts, I’m sure you like it, too.
