Italian Folk Power Metal band Elvenking is set to be featured as the main opener on Alestorm’s Tour of the Dead Marauder, along with North American intergalactic power metal band Glyph. The tour will kick off on March 19 in Ohio, and make a stop at New Haven, Connecticut’s iconic Toad’s Place on March 24.
Formed in 1997, Elvenking is a six-piece band consisting of Damna on vocals, Aydan and Headmatt on Guitar, Lethien on violin, Jakob on bass, and Symohn on drums. The band played many shows before dropping a promotional album titled To Oak Woods Bestowed in 2000. This album led them to be signed with German label, AFM Records.
Fast forward 24 years and Elvenking has released 11 studio albums. Their most recent album, Reader of the Runes- Rapture (2023) is meant to be their heaviest and most extreme songs yet, the tones are darker, and the story of “Rapture” is more tragic and violent. The band states that this album “set a further gold standard in what this band is able to pull off”
