Chicago-based heavy metal band, Veil of Maya embarks on their first headlining United States tour since dropping their newest album [m]other. Joined by one of the hottest Canadian deathcore band in the scene right now, AngelMaker, metalcore band Until I Wake, and rapidly growing progressive metal bands Reflections and Alluvial. The tour will stop at the Webster Underground in Hartford, Connecticut on February 9th.
Veil of Maya has constantly pushed the boundaries in traditional metal, starting as a melodic death metal band and transitioning over their first few years to deathcore. About 10 years after the formation of Veil of Maya, the band saw a change in vocalists and left the growling vocals for new hardcore-style vocals. The change of vocals came with a change of genre. The band turned to metalcore and djent, and this change launched Veil of Maya into the eyes of the metal scene, allowing them to tour alongside bands such as Chelsea Grin, Animals as Leaders, Born of Osiris, Gideon, and many other influential bands to the scene. Their genre-defying sound and many years of experience have scored the band over 135 million streams total, and the numbers haven’t stopped rising yet.
