Dope Purple é uma jovem banda de rock psicodélico-noise com origens na cena underground de Taipé. Sua música combina hard rock, psicodelia e noise, influenciada por bandas da cena alternativa japonesa e por bandas clássicas de rock.
Além disso, a banda organizou o festival Taipei Psychedelic Rock Music em 2022 e 2023 com o objetivo de promover a música psicodélica e underground de Taiwan. Eles realizaram extensas turnês pela China, onde conquistaram o reconhecimento tanto do público quanto da crítica.
Seu primeiro álbum, Grateful End, foi lançado em 2017 e a banda vem desenvolvendo seu som desde então. Frequentemente em colaboração com outros músicos, o Dope Purple apresenta uma mistura poderosa de space rock, psicodelia e noise em um tom pesado, transportando o ouvinte por longas paisagens sonoras em todas as cores, desde explosões de luz até as profundezas da escuridão, muitas vezes explorando temas relacionados às suas experiências pessoais e ao ser humano.
Em seu último álbum, This is the Harsh Trip for the New Psyche, eles colaboraram com Berserk, um músico de noise de Taiwan, a fim de fundir o rock psicodélico com o harsh noise; mas, ao contrário do álbum Psychedelic Scum Freaks, que tinha uma abordagem de noise extremo, a direção do álbum foi mais experimental.
O Dope Purple dará início à sua turnê pela Europa e pelo Reino Unido no segundo dia do DesertFest Berlin 2026.

DOPE PURPLE PLAYS DESERTFEST BERLIN, 15TH MAY
The psychedelic band from Taiwan will tour Europe and the UK this spring.
Dope Purple are a young psychedelic-noise rock band with its origins in Taipei’s underground scene. Their music blends hard rock, psychedelia and noise, influenced by bands of the Japanese alternative scene and classic rock bands .
Moreover, the band hosted the Taipei Psychedelic Rock Music festival in 2022 and 2023 with the aim of promoting Taiwan’s Psychedelic and underground music. They have extensively toured China, were they gained the recognition of audiences and critics alike.
Their first album, Grateful End, was released in 2017 and the band has kept developing their sound since then. Often in collaboration with other musicians, Dope Purple deliver a powerful mixture of space rock, psychedelia and noise on a key of heaviness, transporting the listener through long-length sonic landscapes in all colours, from explosions in light to the depths of darkness, often exploring themes related to their personal experiences and being human.
Their last album, This is the Harsh Trip for the New Psyche, they collaborated with Berserk, a noise musician from Taiwan, in order to fuse psychedelic rock with harsh noise, but unline in their album Psychedelic Scum Freaks, which had a extreme noise approach, the direction of the album was more experimental.
Dope Purple will start their European & UK Tour on the second day of DesertFest Berlin 2026.
